A beautiful few days in France

Last weekend's Paris to Provence French festival at Como House was blessed with bright blue skies and sun all day long- summer was well on its way. The Festival attracted thousands of visitors all eager to sample the wonderful tastes of France - cheese, baguettes, crosissants, macaroons and wine were plentiful along with some gorgeous French or French inspired products. The organsisation was as usual great and Como House and it's grounds looked absolutely stunning in the sunshine with the red, white and blue umbrellas shading the festival goers. All in all a fab time was had by all! Here are some of our favourite images and exhibitors.

Laura (one of the hard working organisers of the festival) and friend

The entertainment was great - mime artists, French choir and bands and Marie Antoinette!

Cornelius, from Maling Road in Canterbury had the most yummy cheese - I have it on good authority that they sold 80 kilos of cheese over the 2 days! Check out their gorgeous website http://www.corneliusfoods.com.au/ for more information - not only do they sell cheese and wine but they have a great cafe - definately worth a visit or two.......

Gigi a la maison, from South Melbourne specialise in authentic French enamelware (which is becoming increasingly difficult to find) along with other French vintage treasures. Combining utility with simple elegance the decorative style of French enamelware is unique and truly reflects the French way of life. Gigi's owner, Lee Bower has a wonderful eye as you can see from her lively stand at the Festival. Definately one of our faves. Go to http://www.gigi.com.au/ for more info.

We met some lovely people at the Festival - especially Andrew and Meredith from Andrew Wilson Antiques. They specialise in antique French provincial furniture and decorative objects, brocante and homewares. Located in Malvern Road Andrew and Meredith have the most gorgeous things we all would love in our homes. We were particularly taken with the old doors (as seen above) and the vintage decoy ducks. http://www.wilsonantiques.com.au/
